Young Birders: Wake Up with Waterfowl
Learn to identify waterfowl on an early-morning guided nature walk.
Young birders and nature-curious kids ages 8 and up will have a chance to learn about waterfowl during this morning program. The session starts with a short presentation that explains the difference between dabbling and diving—two key feeding behaviors of water birds. After the presentation, families head out on a guided bird walk to spot these birds in their natural habitat.
An adult must stay with their child for the full hour-long program. If you have questions before signing up, reach out to the Nature Realm Visitors Center at 330-865-8065. They're available Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. This is a great way to introduce kids to bird-watching and help them understand the creatures living in local waterways.
