Where are the Turtles?

Hunt for turtles and learn about them at the Visitors Center—a nature program.

Ever wondered what happens to turtles and other cold-blooded creatures when winter arrives? This program invites families to join a naturalist guide who'll explain the fascinating survival strategies these scaly animals use to handle the cold months. You'll discover the surprising ways they stay dormant and adapt to seasonal changes. The session includes a short nature walk through the park, so come prepared with weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. This is a drop-in program suitable for a range of ages, from youth through seniors. If you have questions before attending, the Nature Realm Visitors Center staff are available to help at 330-865-8065 (open Wednesday–Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., and Sunday, 12–5 p.m.).
