Valley City Frog Jump Festival

Valley City Frog Jump Festival

Valley City Frog Jump Festival at Mill Stream Park—quirky outdoor fun.

Bring your family to this quirky summer tradition celebrating Valley City's claim as Ohio's Frog Jump Capital. Participants bring their own frogs to compete in a friendly jumping contest—it's not a race, but rather individual jumps measured for distance. With 37 flights of 20 jumps each, there's plenty of opportunity to compete. You can register for multiple jumps if you'd like to try again, as long as there are two flights between entries to give you time to retrieve your frog and get ready for the next round. Winners from each flight move on to a championship jump-off, with grand champion and second-place titles awarded at the end of the day. Beyond the jumping action, expect live music and activities throughout the afternoon, plus food and beverages available for purchase (outside food isn't permitted). A shop will have souvenirs and keepsakes. Winners take home trophies to commemorate the day. Registration happens online about a month before the event or at the festival itself. This celebration supports the Valley City Community Group and helps fund scholarships for local high school students, making your participation meaningful for the community too.
