Touch-a-Truck

Bring your family to explore over a dozen vehicles up close, including emergency response trucks and Summit Metro Parks vehicles. Kids of all ages can climb in, sit behind the wheel, and get an up-close look at equipment they don't see every day. To make the experience comfortable for everyone, there's a special sensory-friendly hour from 10 to 11 a.m. featuring no horns, music, or flashing lights—perfect if your child is sensitive to loud noises or bright lights. The general celebration continues until 2 p.m., and leashed dogs are welcome to join in the fun. Beyond the vehicles themselves, there's plenty more to do. Kids can play in a sandbox with toy trucks, participate in a naturalist-led activity, and there's a gift shop on site (credit cards only). Please note that some vehicles, like Akron Children's Hospital's Air Bear helicopter, may not always be present due to availability. This is a great outing for families looking for hands-on outdoor fun in a casual, informal setting.
