Storytime with Sign Language

Preschoolers learn ASL while enjoying stories at the Main Library.

Storytime with Sign Language combines the magic of shared stories with inclusive communication. A librarian or presenter reads aloud while a sign language interpreter shares the narrative through ASL, making the experience accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing children while enriching all attendees' understanding of visual language. Kids sit together, follow along with illustrations, and enjoy the warmth of group storytelling—a gentle, engaging way for young children to love reading and learn that stories can be told in many ways.
