Spree With Me: The Gift of Oaks

Spree With Me: The Gift of Oaks

All-ages nature hike celebrating the importance of oak trees in the ecosystem.

Take a guided hike along the scenic 2-mile Chippewa Trail and discover why oak trees matter to our natural world. As you walk, a naturalist will share insights into both the ecological role oaks play in our ecosystems and their cultural significance to communities. The hike concludes with a visit to a remarkable ancient oak tree located at Silver Creek Metro Park—a perfect way to see these lessons come to life. This program earns you spree credit and welcomes families of all ages. It's a great way to combine outdoor activity with hands-on learning about nature. If you have questions before heading out, the Nature Realm Visitors Center is happy to help—just give them a call during their Wednesday through Sunday hours.
