SoRA Cleveland: Side Walk Study
SoRA Cleveland: Side Walk Study at Lakewood Park
Join this free public program that blends reading, walking, and group discussion in a unique outdoor learning experience. The Strother School of Radical Attention (SoRA) organizes these "Sidewalk Studies" as a way to practice focused attention while exploring your community. You'll start at Lakewood Park with a short group reading session, then take a guided walk to another nearby location while practicing mindful observation. When your group reconvenes, you'll discuss what you noticed and reflect together on the experience. It's a chance to step away from screens and rediscover how to pay genuine attention to the world around you.
This program welcomes everyone—no special knowledge or reading background needed. Whether you're a parent looking to model good attention habits, a teen interested in community learning, or an adult curious about slowing down, you'll find a welcoming group. Each session runs about two and a half hours and takes place in public space, making it accessible and family-friendly. Bring comfortable walking shoes and come ready to observe, think, and connect with others in your neighborhood.
