Sensory Friendly Time
Low-stimulation museum access for kids with sensory sensitivities or special needs.
Sensory Friendly Time at the Children's Museum Cleveland is designed specifically for families with children who have sensory processing differences or other special needs. During these exclusive early-morning sessions, your family gets access to the museum in a calm, less crowded setting that allows children to explore and learn through play at their own pace. The museum keeps stimulation levels low during these times, creating a more comfortable environment for kids who find typical museum visits overwhelming.
You can use standard admission tickets, a membership, or access program admission to attend—no pre-registration needed. The museum provides helpful resources like noise-reducing headphones and sensory support kits available at the front desk. Feel free to bring any adaptive equipment your child needs. Families are welcome to stay after 9am when the museum opens to the general public, so you can extend your visit if your child is having a great time. Sessions run from 8–9am on select dates throughout the year.
