Sensory Friendly Time
Sensory-friendly museum time at The Children's Museum of Cleveland.
Sensory Friendly Time is a special early-morning program designed for families with children who have sensory processing disorders or other special needs. During these exclusive sessions, the museum operates with reduced crowds and lower stimulation levels, creating a calmer environment where children can explore and play comfortably. The program runs from 8–9 am, giving families a quieter start to their visit before the museum opens to the general public at 9 am.
Families are welcome to bring their own adaptive equipment to support their child's comfort. The museum also provides noise-reducing headphones and sensory support kits at the front desk upon request, at no extra charge. Standard admission tickets, memberships, and access program admissions are all accepted—and there's no need to pre-register. If your family would benefit from a more peaceful museum experience, this program offers a thoughtful way to enjoy the eight interactive exhibits together.
