Sensory Friendly Time

Quiet, low-stimulation museum access for kids with sensory needs.

The Children's Museum Cleveland hosts Sensory Friendly Time sessions designed specifically for families with children who have sensory processing differences or other special needs. During these exclusive morning hours, the museum opens early with reduced crowds and a calmer environment, giving children the space to explore and play at their own pace. The museum provides noise-reducing headphones and sensory support kits at the front desk to help make visits more comfortable. Families are welcome to bring their own adaptive equipment as well. Standard museum admission, memberships, and access program passes all work for this program—no special tickets required, and pre-registration isn't necessary. After the sensory-friendly session ends at 9am, families are welcome to stay and continue enjoying the museum once general admission opens. It's a thoughtful option for parents seeking a more relaxed museum experience that honors their child's individual needs.
