Self-Guided: Goodbye, Birds!

As summer winds down, many bird species prepare for their autumn migration. This self-guided experience invites your family to explore the natural world during this seasonal transition. You'll hike the nearly one-mile Fernwood Trail at the Nature Realm, observing and learning about the birds that will be departing the area in the coming weeks. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature and understand the rhythms of wildlife without requiring a structured tour or guide. This activity is designed for all ages and works at your own pace, making it flexible for families with different hiking abilities and interests. The program runs through late August, giving you a window of time to visit when it suits your schedule.
