Protecting Our Drinking Water

Protecting Our Drinking Water

Nature education program on drinking-water protection at Goodyear Heights.

This program brings together the Greater Akron Audubon Society and Jessica Glowczewski, the City of Akron's Stormwater Superintendent, to explore how Akron protects its water resources. You'll learn where the city's drinking water originates, how it gets tested to ensure safety, and what efforts keep both the water supply and the Upper Cuyahoga River watershed in good health. This is an in-person event geared toward adults who want to understand the behind-the-scenes work that goes into maintaining clean drinking water in our community. The program runs for about an hour and a half. If you have questions beforehand, you can reach the Nature Realm Visitors Center at 330-865-8065 during their regular hours.
