Owl Prowl

Owl Prowl

Evening nature walk to spot owls at Tallmadge Meadows—perfect for curious kids.

Join a naturalist-led evening adventure on the Meadow Trail where you'll search for owls in their natural habitat. The program kicks off in the shelter with an introductory presentation covering owl calls, their nighttime adaptations, and safe spotting techniques. From there, you'll head out for a quiet walk along a portion of the 2-mile trail—perfect for listening and watching for these fascinating birds. This outing works well for families interested in nature and wildlife. Bring a small flashlight to help you see along the trail, and please leave pets at home so they don't disturb the owls or other wildlife. If you have questions before the event, the Nature Realm Visitors Center staff are available to help. It's a hands-on way to learn about owls and experience the outdoors during the winter season.
