Mini Majorettes

Mini Majorettes

Dance program at Mentor Community Recreation Center teaching kids majorette and rhythmic movement skills.

Your child will join other young students to explore the fun and skill of baton twirling. The class covers baton basics, including proper terminology and fundamental techniques like twirls, rolls, and tosses. As kids practice these movements, they'll naturally build hand-eye coordination and body control. The instructor emphasizes correct form from the start, setting a strong foundation for this activity. Participants should bring their own baton and a water bottle to each session. The class runs for eight weeks and meets weekly at the recreation center's racquetball court. Membership pricing is available if your family belongs to the center; non-members can register as well. This program works well for elementary-age kids looking to try something active and a bit different.
