Magnificent Moths

Learn about moths on a guided nature walk at Quarry Trail.

Explore the fascinating world of moths with a naturalist guide during this evening program. You'll discover the incredible diversity of these insects—their varied shapes, colors, and sizes—from the striking pink and yellow rosy maple moth to the expertly camouflaged pandorus sphinx moth. This is a great opportunity for the whole family to learn about nocturnal insects in their natural habitat. Plan to bring bug spray and a camera to capture photos of the moths you spot. The program runs for two hours in the evening, giving you the best chance to see these creatures active. Whether you're an adult, teen, senior, or bringing kids along, this nature education event welcomes all ages. For any questions before you go, the Nature Realm Visitors Center is available Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
