Intro to Stand-Up Paddleboarding

Intro to stand-up paddleboarding at Summit Metro Parks—learn water skills.

This two-hour session introduces families to stand-up paddleboarding on the lake with guidance from a certified instructor. You'll learn the basics and then enjoy a guided tour around the water. The park provides all equipment you'll need, including life jackets, so there's nothing to bring except yourself. Keep in mind that the location may shift depending on water conditions, so it's worth confirming details closer to the date. Participants must be at least 13 years old and able to swim. Teens aged 13 to 17 need an adult to join them in the activity. Everyone should wear closed-toe shoes and is encouraged to bring sun protection. Registration opens on July 1st and costs $15 per person. Arrive 15 minutes early to complete required paperwork before the session begins. For questions, contact the Nature Realm Visitors Center at 330-865-8065 (they're open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 12 to 5 p.m.).
