Intro to Stand-Up Paddleboarding
Learn stand-up paddleboarding basics at Summit Metro Parks' Lake House Area.
This two-hour session introduces paddleboarders of all skill levels to the basics of stand-up paddleboarding with hands-on instruction from a certified instructor. You'll learn the fundamentals and then take a guided tour around the lake to practice your new skills. All equipment is provided, including life jackets, so you don't need to bring your own board or safety gear. The cost is $15 per person.
A few things to keep in mind: participants must be at least 13 years old and able to swim. Teens ages 13–17 need an adult to participate alongside them. Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that can get wet, and bring a water bottle. Since water conditions can change, the meeting location may shift, so it's worth confirming when you register. Sign-ups open August 1st and are required to attend. Questions? Call the Nature Realm Visitors Center at 330-865-8065 (Wednesday–Saturday 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Sunday 12–5 p.m.).
