History of the American Fur Trade

Join a guided program exploring how the fur trade shaped early North America. You'll learn about the key players involved—Indigenous peoples, voyagers, mountain men, and trading companies—and discover how their activities influenced exploration, commerce, and settlement across the continent. The program also covers the lasting environmental and cultural effects of the trade and its relevance to our world today. This in-person program is geared toward adults and seniors and runs for about an hour and a half.
