GLSC for Me: Sensory-Friendly Hours

Sensory-friendly science exploration at Great Lakes Science Center.

The Great Lakes Science Center offers sensory-friendly hours designed for visitors who benefit from a quieter, calmer museum environment. During these special sessions, the center reduces noise levels, dims lights slightly, and creates a more relaxed atmosphere—making it ideal for children and adults with autism, sensory sensitivities, or anxiety. Families can explore hands-on STEM exhibits, interactive displays, and planetarium shows at their own pace without the usual crowds and stimulation. Staff are trained to support visitors with sensory needs, and designated quiet spaces are available throughout the facility.
