Fossils for Kids

Join a naturalist guide for an adventure into the stream where kids and their grown-ups hunt for fossils while learning about prehistoric life that once thrived in this area. The program kicks off at the picnic area with an introduction, then participants head out to explore. As a special takeaway, everyone gets to create their own fossil to bring home—a hands-on souvenir of the day. This is an outdoor, in-person activity best suited for families with children of various ages. Since you'll be exploring the stream, plan for everyone to get wet and make sure kids wear closed-toe shoes. Questions about the program?
