FirstEnergy Akron Marathon, Half Marathon, and Team Relay

Get ready for a running celebration that takes you through downtown Akron and beyond. Participants can choose between three ways to participate: run the full marathon, walk it, or join a team relay where nine runners share the 26-mile distance together. The course doubles as a sightseeing tour, passing through some of Akron's most recognizable spots—the Akron Art Museum, University of Akron, Firestone Park, the Towpath Trail, Sand Run Parkway, Stan Hywet Estate, and Highland Square. Everyone starts and finishes in downtown, with the iconic Blue Line at Lock 3 marking the finish line. The 2026 event is particularly special as it celebrates the 20th anniversary of the half-marathon distance option.
