Christmas Bird Count Walk
Guided bird-watching walk during the annual Christmas Bird Count.
Join a guided walk through the trails at Nature Realm to participate in the Christmas Bird Count, a long-standing tradition of gathering data for community science. Over the course of about three miles, you'll spot and record birds while learning about the history and importance of this annual count. Binoculars are helpful for getting a better look at the birds you encounter, so bring your own if you have them.
This activity welcomes adults, teens, and seniors who enjoy being outdoors and don't mind spending a couple of hours on the trails. Be sure to dress appropriately for December weather. If you have questions before heading out, the Nature Realm Visitors Center staff can help—just give them a call during their regular hours.
