Chardon's America 250 Celebration
Community picnic celebrating America's 250th with live music, food vendors, slip-n-slide, and kite-making.
Chardon is hosting a multi-day celebration marking America's 250th anniversary, with activities spread across the town from early July through the weekend. The festivities kick off on Wednesday evening with a classic movie screening at the Geauga Theater, followed by a historical lecture and a community theater production on Thursday. Friday brings live polka music and fireworks at Chardon High School, while Saturday features the traditional Independence Day Parade around Chardon Square, complete with a courthouse dedication ceremony, kids' bike decorating, and complimentary hot dogs, ice cream, and face painting.
On Sunday, the celebration wraps up with a community picnic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring food vendors, live music from the Snowbelt Musical Arts Association, a giant slip 'n slide, and craft activities for kids. It's a great opportunity for families to enjoy several days of entertainment, from performances and parades to outdoor activities and fireworks.
