Canal Paddle

This event is a guided paddling experience on the Ohio Erie Canal led by a certified instructor. Starting from Summit Lake, participants will paddle south on a round-trip route while learning about the canal's historical significance and its role in Akron's development. The outing lasts about three hours and accommodates teens and adults, with younger teens (ages 13–17) required to bring an adult participant along. A few things to know before signing up: everyone must wear closed-toe shoes and be a swimmer, though all paddling equipment is provided. The minimum age is 13. The activity costs $15 per person, and registration opens August 1st. Keep in mind that the location may shift depending on water conditions on the day of the event.
