Canal Paddle

Get out on the water and explore a piece of Akron's industrial heritage. This guided paddle takes you down the Ohio Erie Canal from Summit Lake with a certified instructor leading the way. You'll learn how this historic waterway helped shape Akron's growth and development while enjoying a round-trip journey through the area. The three-hour outing is open to teens 13 and up (younger teens need an adult along) and works best for families where everyone can swim and wear closed-toe shoes. All paddle equipment and life jackets are provided, so you just need to show up ready to go. Registration opens August 1st, and the cost is $15 per person.
