Campfire Chemistry

Bring your family for an evening of hands-on science exploration centered around a campfire. At this event, you'll discover how chemistry creates those mesmerizing flames in shades of green, blue, and purple—all thanks to the periodic table of elements. Your group will learn the secrets behind making a dazzling light show and gain a deeper understanding of the science happening right before your eyes. This program welcomes participants of all ages and is designed to spark curiosity about how chemistry works in nature. You'll meet at Pioneer Shelter within the park grounds. If you have questions before attending, you can reach the Nature Realm Visitors Center at 330-865-8065. They're available Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
