Bird Nerds: Pileated Woodpecker

Join us for an in-depth exploration of the pileated woodpecker, one of Ohio's most striking birds. This program welcomes bird lovers of all ages and experience levels. You'll start with an indoor presentation that goes beyond the basics—learning details about this fascinating species that many of us recognize but don't know as well as we think. If you'd like to extend your experience, you're invited to join a guided birding walk after the presentation to spot these impressive woodpeckers in their natural habitat. The program runs 90 minutes and takes place at the FASN/Visitors Center. It's designed for adults, teens, and seniors, making it a great outing whether you're a longtime bird enthusiast or just getting curious about local wildlife.
