Back Yards Gone Wild: Seed Collecting

Back Yards Gone Wild: Seed Collecting

Learn to collect seeds for a backyard habitat.

Spend an afternoon learning practical skills for growing native plants from seed. A naturalist will walk you through collection, proper storage, and propagation methods before you head outside to put those techniques into practice. You'll gather seeds together as a group and take home some of what you collect. This hands-on program welcomes adults, teens, and seniors who want to create a more wildlife-friendly yard. If you have native seeds at home, bring them along—there's an opportunity to trade with other gardeners. For questions about the program, contact the Nature Realm Visitors Center at 330-865-8065 (open Wednesday–Saturday 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Sunday 12–5 p.m.).
