Andrew Wyeth Tours
Guided tours of Andrew Wyeth's paintings at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
The Cleveland Museum of Art is hosting guided tours of an exhibition devoted to American artist Andrew Wyeth's watercolor work. A museum docent will lead visitors through "Spectacular Freedom: Andrew Wyeth and the Modern American Watercolor," which showcases nearly 75 pieces from Wyeth's estate—many of them on public display for the first time. You'll see watercolors alongside some of his paintings, exploring how this influential artist used the watercolor medium throughout his early career. Beginning in the 1930s, Wyeth became known for depicting the rural landscapes and people of Pennsylvania and Maine in emotionally resonant ways.
This exhibition offers a chance for art-loving families to deepen their appreciation for one of America's significant modern artists. Tours are available throughout the fall and winter, and admission ranges from free to $25 depending on membership status. If you have a group of 10 or more adults interested in a private tour experience, you can arrange that by contacting the museum directly at grouptours@clevelandart.org or 216-707-2752.
