A Field Guide Year: Nature Journals
Keep a nature journal and sketch the year's seasonal changes at Richfield Forest.
This is a year-long nature journaling program where participants meet monthly with a naturalist to explore different outdoor topics. During each session, you'll learn about a specific subject in nature, then use that knowledge to create your own field guide entries. You'll combine the facts you've learned with your own observations, sketches, and reflections to build a personalized journal throughout the year. This January session kicks things off at Brushwood Lodge.
Bring a journal of your choice, and the program will provide additional supplies you might need. The activity works well for teens, adults, and seniors who want to deepen their connection with nature while documenting what they discover. If you have questions about the program or want more details, the Nature Realm Visitors Center is available to help. This is a chance to create something meaningful that grows with you over the full year.
